The charities line helps registered charities, applicants, and donors with charitable registration, status, donation tax receipts, and the T3010 Registered Charity Information Return. It is not the line for personal income tax refunds or GST/HST credits.

Why you may have received a call from this number

• CRA Charities Directorate may call about an application, a T3010, or missing charity information.
• A charity contact person on file may receive a follow-up about compliance or a filing reminder.
• Donors rarely get unsolicited calls from this number; a caller asking you to “donate now to avoid an audit” is not this department.
