What this department does

This is the Canada Revenue Agency’s main telephone line for individuals who live in the provinces. Agents help with personal income tax returns, refunds, tax slips, registered accounts, and My Account access. It is the number most people should use for everyday personal tax questions.

This toll-free line assists with:

  • Personal income tax questions
  • Tax return status and refunds
  • My Account registration and access
  • T4, T5, and other tax slips
  • RRSP, TFSA, and other registered accounts

Hours of operation

Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (local time), except holidays. Wait times are often longest around midday and near filing deadlines.

Hours can change on holidays and during peak filing periods.
